When you order an animal from Xtreme Exotics you can rest assured it will be packed and shipped with the utmost care. With many years of experience in shipping live animals, we know how to meet the specific needs of your pet during the shipping process. Your animal will be placed in a deli cup, cloth bag, or small custom crate according to species. Then it will be placed inside a styrofoam cooler which fits snuggly inside a cardboard box. Empty space inside the cooler will be filled with crumpled newspaper to prevent your pet from sliding around. Holes are then put through the sides according to the oxygen needs of the species. If necessary, one to three 40-hour heat packs will be activated and secured to the inside of the cooler ensuring your pet will be sitting at a comfortable temperature throughout the duration of its trip. If you order a mammal it will be packed with sufficient food and water. The box will then be sealed up, labeled with live animal stickers, addressed and dropped off at either the airport or ground courier depot. If your order is shipped by air you will need to pick it up at the airport. We ask that you arrive at the airport in a timely manner to pick up your animals, or make sure you are at home for the expected time of delivery for door to door shipments. Airfreight costs vary usually from $80 to $120 for the average size order. For door to door shipping (available in Ontario only) the cost usually varies from $40 to $50. If your order requires more than one box you can expect the cost of shipping to go up. When you place your order, we will book your shipment and quote you a cost for shipping which you can pay with the rest of your invoice.
TERMS OF SALE
Please familiarize yourself with our terms and conditions of retail sale to avoid any misunderstandings. By placing an order with Xtreme Exotics you agree to the below terms of sale. Please note that because we are also a wholesale business customers in some areas will be referred to a reputable pet store to complete their order.
It is our guarantee that all animals sold, to the best of our knowledge, are in good health at the time of sale, free of physical defects and are feeding. All* animals are guaranteed alive and healthy for 7 days from the date of arrival. This guarantee is void as soon as any animal is re-sold, therefore we recommend all animals be kept under the care of the original buyer for at least 7 days. We are not vets, and cannot guarantee our animals to be parasite free. Wild caught imports may or may not have been de–wormed, please inquire to be sure. It is the opinion of Xtreme Exotics that all new animals should be quarantined and assessed by a qualified vet upon arrival. Any dead on arrival claims must be made within 24 hours of shipment arrival. In the rare case that an animal arrives dead or dies within the guarantee period, the animal will be replaced or your next purchase credited. Cash refunds will only be given when an animal of same species and similar value is not available. We are not responsible for the shipping cost of a replacement animal. We may request proof of any claims in the form of a color photo before a replacement or credit can be given. Any and all claims made after the 7 day guarantee will not be honored, no exceptions. All orders must be paid in full before shipping. All orders are shipped at buyer's expense unless otherwise mentioned. We accept all forms of payment, visa, mc, paypal, email money transfer, direct deposit or certified cheque. Any payments made by check have to be cleared before your order can be sent out. We ship to your door within most of Ontario via Canada Post, or outside of Ontario via Air Canada Cargo. Orders sent by air must be picked up within 2 hours of arrival or all guarantees are void. We cannot be responsible for fatalities or illness resulting from carrier mishandling or flight delays. Any such claims must be taken up directly with the airline or courier. For orders shipped with Canada Post, you must be home to sign for your shipment at the time of delivery for our guarantee to be valid. We are not responsible for knowing the by-laws in your area, so please be sure to check into the legality of any species of your interest prior to placing your order. No refunds or replacements will be given in cases where the animal you purchased is not allowed in your area. Care sheets will be sent out for every species in your order by request only. We are not responsible for death or illness resulting from questionable husbandry methods. RESEARCH BEFORE YOU BUY.
*Due to their sensitive nature, we do not guarantee live arrival on amphibians at any time except in cases where the animal can be hand delivered. Even when they are in optimal health these animals are susceptible to shipping related illnesses or fatalities.
